Fellow Platoon Members:

This will be my last pitch to entice you to join us in Beaumont.

We are planning for a nice affair, one that you will enjoy participating in. I know that we will have competition from the ceremony that will be held at Fort Benning GA on May 8th, but the real fun will be going on in Beaumont with your buddies.

We have arranged for a charter bus to pick us up at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning May 8th and take us out for some sight seeing of the area, returning to the Holliday Inn about 4:00 PM. We are not sure what the entire itinerary will be as yet but it will include the Veterans Memorial Park and the Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur as well as many other points of interest.

The dinner banquet will be at 7:00 PM, with seating at 6:30 PM. Selections will include southern fried chicken, marinated London Broil & cat fish fillet, fresh fruit salad and crisp garden salad, green beans, almandine zucchini/yellow squash medley, rice or pasta, au gratin potatoes, black forest cake and cheesecake with fruit topping, coffee, decaf and ice tea. Platoon Members - Call for Volunteer to Work on 59th Web Site

With the unfortunate passing of Dean Harrison on November 4, 2002, Dean never really was able to develop his web site for the 59th Scout Dog Platoon. The site is still up but has never been developed or changed since its inception. If someone has the interest and knowledge to take the site and develop it or create one for the 59th IPSD that would be terrific but in the mean time Jonathan and I have updated the Platoon Roster for the 59th Scout Dog Platoon and added it back to our 47th site. You may go to our home page and scroll down to the heading Other Information and click on the selection for the 59th Roster. You may go directly to the roster at http://www.47ipsd.us/59roster.htm.

This report is a bit short this time due to reunion planning. I hope to see you in Beaumont.

Take care of yourselves,

Bert
