War Dog Pedestals Dedication, Ft Benning, GA, May 11, 2002
The 47th Scout Dog Platoon hosted the dedication of five new War Dog Memorial Pedestals at the War Dog Memorial statue on Sacrifice Field at Fort Benning. Former platoon member Jonathan Wahl served as the Master of Ceremonies and the first Platoon Commander Stanley C. Stockdale delivered the Keynote Address. War Dog Teams and Units from World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War were recognized as well as Vietnam Dog Handler Medal of Honor recipient Robert Hartsock (KIA).
